But looks to be very soon.

WYOMING GAME AND FISH COMMISSION
CHAPTER 61
COLLECTION OF SHED ANTLERS AND HORNS
W.S. §23-1-302 (xxxi) directs and empowers the Commission to regulate and control the collection of shed antlers and horns of big game animals for the purpose of minimizing the harassment or disturbance of big game populations on public lands west of the Continental Divide any time between January 1 and May 1 of each year.
This regulation is designed to minimize the harassment or disturbance of big game animals on their winter and spring ranges when they are most vulnerable to physiological stress and displacement to less productive habitats.

Good for Wyoming, to bad they had to do something to keep people from harrassing the animals during a critical time of the year. You would think people would respect the animals more but their is always a few that dont care. :>/

I've never seen a coyote or a lion out chasing animals just for their antlers. I don't blame them for trying to survive. Do you have to have those antlers right at the moment they fall so that you will survive also? It's pressure that the animals just don't need. The antlers will fall off one way or the other so why push them?

Myself,,I like antlers ALOT better when there attached to a skull plate......

Don't get me wrong though, If I stumble across a shed while lion hunting , I'll pick it up.

There are studies being conducted by fish and wildlife agents that suggest when doe deer and cow elk are "harassed on the wintering range this excess stress can cause the animals to abort their pregnancy. This is why running these animals is such a problem and the fact that its ridiculous to be running these animals trying to get them to drop their horns. If you can't find the sheds when they are on the ground then you have no business being out there in the first place. People who go out on their four wheelers and snow machines to chase these animals around end up ruining shed hunting for those of us who are actually honest about it and pick them up for the pure enjoyment of it. Anyone who thinks they are going to get rich off of picking up sheds needs to take a reality check because sheds are worth next to nothing. I sell my sheds but thats only because I wouldn't know what to do with all of them if I didn't, I definatly don't sell them because I get rich off of them. I would encourage those of you who are that dedicated to picking up sheds to turn in anyone who you see harassing animals no matter what time of the year it is. We as shed hunters are being labled because of those select few.
