Hey guys i am new around here, and this will be my first ever trip hunting mule deer. I will be going to North Dakota around the middle of September. Any info pointing me in the right direction would be awesome!

The deer numbers are going down with these terrible winters we have had the last 2 years. Your best guess is to start around grassy butte and work west towards the little missouri. Lots of public land! Stick to the badlands unless you have access to private land. Stay away from the thick pines. It is very unproductive to hunt that territory unless you are a local. Too hard to spot deer before they spot you. Stick to the open places! Good luck.

The first thing I would do is order a Little Missouri National Grasslands map. You should be able to order one online or pick one up at a local forest service office. They even have a cheesy map you can download for free that would show most of the roads and campgrounds.
