Well i only was able to go out for 3 hours Saturday because i had a wedding to go to but found one nice shed and a smaller one here are the pics from my phone.

this is a really nice 4 point that made it through the winter

I looked all over but could not find the other shed and because this is my first year i am not sure where to look can some one give me an idea? ig they shed are they usually close by ? this was in the steep rocks area and i think it could have fallen maybe 30 yards from where i found it or more but i checked up hill and down hill (admittedly more down than up because of the time restraints) I knew I could cover more ground going up to where I found it and back down to the valley than just walking up hill aimlessly. Any advice would be great.

It all depends on climate and the winter range the deer are in and if they have been traveling from feed areas to bed areas. If it was a mild winter that year the deer can travel several miles in a day for feed.

I went out yesterday, walked 4.5 miles in 3 hours and found 18 sheds ( Not that great, Every where I walked I came across foot prints. (Sneeky Buggers) Ill post pictures tonight.
Like yesterday I found a 2x2 set right next to another and found a 4x4 set almost a mile apart.
I filmed a buck 2 years ago drop one side and two weeks later drop the other side. These sheds were 1.5 miles apart. They can certainly travel.
What I do is mark on my gps where I found the sheds so I can narrow my search next time I go out.

Thanks antlersoutwest, I was thinking I should have just followed the trail up hill to the end to see if I could find the other side I sure would have liked to find a set for my first time. But you are right there where a lot of foot prints out there in the hills I don't think everyone was as considerate as us at not disturbing the deer as we where. For instance I had a nice bachelor group on some private ground that I had been watching talked to the owner 2 days before opening day to see if I could gain access he said he ran three guys off that area a month ago. I combed the area where the herd had been and nothing but foot prints all over that area. I wish the old farmer would have called the game warden instead of running them off him self. I would have like to have seen some justice for following the rules. Oh well I vent. Sorry!
