Okay here I go...tons of photography pics

I've got a lot to share so stay with me...

I started scouting or should I say "shooting" earlier this year than ever and probably have and will spend more time doing so yet than I have in any year previous. WHY? Cause I can. :) and for the love of the game.

I use to shoot mostly VIDEO, I haven't touched the video camera yet this year (not that I don't want to, its tough to do both).

So I've been shooting nothing but still photos and am itching to get back out as I'm always wanting to get more and do better.

Lets start with some "WEIRDY" bucks!

Here he is now...

Never seen one quite like this or the one above for that matter. :))

At least I think they are the same buck?
0
MuleyMadness
I thought this guy was pretty cool...
0
MuleyMadness
I found a couple of more "WEIRDIES" also, but to dark to get a good photo. I tried, maybe next time.

One of them was pretty cool, he was a semi normal 4-point size on the right and 'weird' on the left...

This guy was running with the weird one, I know it's crappy photo....was basically dark.

A solid straight 4-point I think, nice deep forks all the way around. Not to tall, but pretty buck.

MuleyMadness
How about a couple of 3-points - I didn't shoot the little ones, just 3 point of bigger.

Tried to sneak up on this 4x5 closer on 2 different occasions, he busted me both times and I couldn't get the real good shots.

He is a sweet buck, not wide but tall and great eyeguards.

He looks similar to the one above (different buck though), this one is bigger.

Brett, Thanks for the photos. Good job! Looks like the herd is doing well.

Wish I could have got some more/better photos of this guy. He didn't stick around long and wouldn't stop to look at me.

A solid symmetrical 4-point all the way around.

Brett,
Those are nice pictures I like the big three with the 4x5 that three is huge bodied compared to the 4x5. and the way that 4x4 spread wide with that weird buck give him another year or 2 and I’ll bet he clears 30”. Thanks Brett !!!!!

I grew up in Utah, and the only place I've ever seen bucks of that caliber (not mention that many) is in limited entry units, and in Northern Wyoming off my uncle's property! Nice bucks. I whish I could find a photo op location like that here in Colorado.

I think he is a legit 30" buck, what do you guys think?
0
MuleyMadness
And here he is a couple of weeks later, mid to 3 week in July. He is a 4x5
0
MuleyMadness
This one was taken the end of June also.

Was a really fun stalk, got to within about 25 yards or so?
0
Hiker
I'd agree....ear to ear 20" plus 5" per side. He should be 30". Nice buck, I'd sure like to see a photo of him come the end of August.
0
MuleyMadness
Okay, this was a REALLY fun stalk. Had my Dad with me on this one and he got the best 'shot' of the day, an AWESOME pic to show bigger later.

Group of 8 bucks total, got to within 50 +/- yards or so.

MuleyMadness
After a couple of them ran away and looked back, one is close to a 30" 3x4. Other is 4x4

Brett-

What type of camera are you using? I just bught a new Canon Rebel XTi with a couple of different lenses and I am anxious to try it out on ome wildlife. Are you shooting photos through a spotting scope? If so, why type of scope and adapter.

Thanks

Hawkeye
0
MuleyMadness
hawkeye,

No scope or adapter. I have the Rebel XT, step down from yours. Great camera.

I use a Canon 300 mm lens, L series. They aren't cheap, paid 1,000 for the lens. I have a 1.4 extender on this set up which gives me a reach of 420mm.

Walla that's it.

These next are really big images...

My took took the close up one, it's a fantastic shot. You should see the original image.

The shot of the 6 bucks on the hill is one of my FAV from the summer, all 3x4 or bigger bucks.

Enjoy and thanks for the compliments.

All these photos are actually from about a DOZEN different mornings and evenings.

Okay,

Rumor has it this buck was killed Sunday Morning, and someone here can confirm. I'd love for the hunter to get on here and show us, not sure he will though.

I've been holding out on this photo because he was a TOAD. 8" cheater off the right side, tons of Mass, height, tall, etc. This photo was taken in July.

I know the photo isn't the best, but this is one SWEET buck.
0
MuleyMadness
Oh and I believe he grossed over 200". :thumb

The buck is a Stud and he was killed Sunday morn. rough scored 202. I will post some quality video when I get time. I had the privlige of hunting this buck the first week of the hunt. Alot of up close time just not close enough. The other tag holder from Kanab made the right moves sunday morning and made the shot . Not my place to say any more.I think he added some inches since July! Congrats on an awesome buck .

Actually I only have one more to be honest, I felt very fortunate and luck to get the 2 I did. He was a lot tougher to find and photograph than I hoped this year.
