This picture was taken at our family farm. It used to be an amazing place for duck hunting and more. Now, with all the homes nearby it is a safe haven for waterfowl and other wildlife.

Great photo! :thumb I take it you can no longer hunt the property because of city limits?

Great pic, thats too bad the city crowded into your area there but I'll bet it was great while it lasted!

I may be wrong but i believe i know where that is and if i'm right then so are you about the duck hunting, i pass by an area just like that every now and then and without fail i see numerous ducks and even a few pheasants. Great pic

I killed my first duck there Jason, with Justin... Used to be so much fun to go down and see all of them flying in every evening. Not to mention the big deer that used to be around there as well, and catching the catfish all night.. But I guess the wound-fin minnow is more important than all that other wildlife, hated it when the would destroy the beaver dams to save the minnow. Kinda sad all the homes are built right there now.

Thats a great picture! Sucks they had to take such a great duck spot from ya. Thats how it is around here, everywhere i used to go with my dad when i was like 8 and 9, is all too close to homes and stuff so you can no longer hunt there, thank goodness for walk in access areas

Yes, that is the Seegmiller pond. Ridgetop, have you hunted there before? I know it was a pretty popular spot back in the day. I have a duck mounted on my wall that was shot just to the side of the photo. It would be nice if it still had the bass in it like it did when my brother (archerycrazy) and I were kids. It's where I learned my lesson to not play to close to the edge, even when it's frozen over. The ice on the pond in St. George doesn't hold you when you fall on it.

Yes, I have shot ducks at those ponds many years ago. Also got into the quail one day along the river down there. I've even shot a few geese and pheasants in the Washington fields. I think those days are gone. :>/ I sure miss living/being down there a lot.
