I'm new to this forum from SW Washington state, wanted to share a find. My father found a shed antler from an elk while scouting about 4 years back or so, it was an area that had just recently been looged, and it was really thick before. Anyways, the antler appeared very very old when I first saw it, it's about 10 or so inches in length from the base up (very deteriorated) , and the diameter near the base seemed massive when I saw it, it was definitely a big animal. I just learned recently that my uncle had it carbon-dated at the University of Washington a couple years back, and they determined that it was 95 years old! I'll post a pic later this weekend, how often do you stumble across old finds like that?

You may have a record with one that old. :)

Yeah like I said it's fairly solid at the base, but kinda hollowed as it goes up. It's definitely an awesome find too, they hadn't even paved the main highway to st helens back then either, I bet this bull lived a long life.
