OPTICS

I'm counting the days to my 1st ever trip to Wyoming. We will be Mule Deer and Antelope hunting NE of Casper. I'm a little concerend about my binoculars. I'm not a rich man by any means but I need good glasses for this trip. I'm looking at Leopold Wind Rivers. They are about $100. Am I wasting my money?? I've heard they are made overseas and Leopold puts thier name on them. Anyone have a pair? I have a Trashco spotting scope I'll have to make due with cause I can't afford new glasses and a spotting scope.

Thanks for any help!!

Check out the Nikon Monarcs. I have the windrivers and bought my dad the Nikons. They were as good or better glass.

Flatlander, I have a pair of Leupold Wind River range finding binoculars that I love. Two weeks ago I dropped and broke them. Sent them into Leupold for repair. I was able to track the unit though their receiving and repair departments using their webiste. Within two days, they had found a bad "electonic module" (whatever that is) and the website said the correctrive actions was "replaced". Three days later I got the unit back, except it wasn't my unit! They had replaced the entire unit free!

The orginial unit was over 3 years old and I had never sent in the warranty. Even if this unit was built out of the US, Leupold stands behind their products. After this experience I would not hesitate to purchase any Luepold product.

Good luck in Wyoming!! We leave Oct 11 for a Wyoming speed goat/muley hunt out of Capser. Can't wait!
