Ordered new Howa Compact 7mm-08.
I'm planning on it being used as my deer rifle.. Keeping the 300 Win Mag. for Elk.
I'm hoping it will shoot 120gr. BT's well.. I like 'em at around 3100 fps. I should be able to get real close to that even in a 20" barrel.
The Remington Mountain LSS had my heart, but I thought I would save a couple hundred dollars and put that into higher quality optics.

I have a 7MM-08 in a Cooper Custom Classic. Love it! Cant wait to see yours.. maybe you can post some pic's when you get it?
Heavy barrel?
What do you hunt with it and what loads do you use?
It's pretty much dedicated for mule deer. Yes it has a heavy barrel. Total weight with scope is 8.1 lbs.
Been shooting factory ammo with 140 gr accutips.
