Oregon Late Season Archery Blacktails

I was just wondering if there were any die hard archery blacktail hunters here. And were you sucessful this late archery season.

hornhunter ::wel to the Madness I never have hunted them but always have wanted to they are the ultimate challenge.

I know there are a couple guys on here that do hunt them though.

oh yea, it's a blast! i hunt every year on the late hunt.
except this year...... i had a kid nov 1. that kinda put a damper on that hunt.
boy they are elusive suckers. very thick country.
next year......

killerbee next to bowhunting elk the late blacktail hunt is my favorite nothing like rattling in big blacktail bucks. Congratulations on your baby is it your first ? You did not miss much it was not very good this yr to warm and the bucks were doing most of there rutting at night. But after we had that big snow and cold snap seen 2 really big bucks still chasing the girls in our favorite spot we hunt.

 no it's are second. 1 2 yr old girl and 1 three month old bay.
what part of oregon are you from>

I hunt them annually......just not in OR.....CA instead. I'd love to travel up there and give em' a shot in the late season. Sounds like fun times.

Bohntr- Like I said it is an awesome hunt if the weather stays cold are raining you see alot of bucks and there is nothing like rattling them in. This yr the weather was warm no storms or real cold weather so all the rut activity was at night. Guys were saying this was one of the worst yrs ever. Got some snow and a cold snap the first part of december but it was to late. Do they rut bowhunts in California you guys have some huge blacktails.
