Oregon Steens Hunt

I was wondering if anyone has hunted the Steens area in Oregon during the archery season. I have more than enough points to draw it with my dad and me but was wondering what kind of luck you guys have had in the area. Did you see alot of bucks and how big of buck did you see. I would appreciate any information you guys have.

I hunted it three or four years ago and we saw some bucks and a few decent bucks but not what the Steens is known for. I have heard from others the quality is WAY down from what it was several years ago. When I went it wasn't draw but general archery, and I would tell you not to waste too many points but then I have NO IDEA where I would go!!

We didn't cover a lot of the unit so we aren't a great example of what the unit offers.

Yeah I know that the area is pretty big and I was hoping to hunt the Northern part of the area as I have seen a couple of really nice bucks off the highway. Thank you for the input though.
