OTC Elk

So for those of you who didnt draw out a special tag whos just going to do general and what are you going to hunt with it muzzy, archery or rifle?

Well I am going to buy a general spike tag and apply for a cow tag as well. As far as my weapon choice I am going to hunt rifle since I am only going to be at home for 3 weeks. That gives me the chance to hunt both deer and elk. Especially since my injuries prevent me from hunting archery this year.

That is IF the general tags havent been sold out by the time I get there.. Im going to Gen rifle elk and buck in Northern. I have permisson on private property this year so hopefully I can get a decent buck and bull.
Its steep and rugged country, many good animals in there but you have to be a mountain goat to get to them..
Now if only hunting season would come sooner :thumb

I applied for a LE archery tag here in Oregon. Seriously doubt my partner and I will draw the tags, so it'll be OTC archery bull tags for us.

I will probably get an archery spike/cow tag as well, although I will be going on 2 LE hunts helping some people out, so I may not get to use my tag too much

I,m getting a otc Elk achery tag in Co. this year. Going as high and remote as this old bones will take me for the last 10 days in sept. Got my total pack wieght down to 42lbs, includes a flyrod for a few high mountian lakes. If I get to worn out chaseing elk I'll fish for a while. I hope everyone has a safe and successful season.

 hey tree killer, what unit did you apply for? i 've hunted [or gone with buddies]on most of are late season archery hunts. i'd be glad to give any info i have for help.

oohps, stupid me i just re-read the post, i was thinking you were applying for a late archery DEER tag, now i see "archery BULL" in your post lol

I drew out on the general bull tag So i don't have to worry about getting one otc. Anybull with antlers here i come.... :thumb

I'm going to pass this year. With 275 pounds of packaged meat from last years bull, it should last me through next year. Plus I have friends and family that drew out on the SPORTSMANS MOOSE, LONE PEAK ROCKY MOUNTAIN GOAT, BOOKCLIFFS ARCHERY ELK AND VERNON MUZZLELOADER. Hopefully I can tag along on one of these hunts with them. [-o<

 killerbee....I hunt the late Blacktail season here around Mt Hood. I never apply for the late muley tags, too much fun rattling for Blacktails!

We applied for the Walla Walla elk hunt. We had that tag in 2004, and my partner killed a 360 6x7. Tough hunt in that jungle, but it holds some brutes!!!

Man Ridge, sounds like your going to have a very busy fall. You better post a bunch of photos, from all of those great hunts.

Wyo res have not drawn yet but I did put in for a late oct cow/calf hunt in 16. I normally get a gen tag and hunt 21 for bulls but I cann't get time off the 1st part of Oct. there'll be left over cow tags after the drawing for cow/calf in 21 so I may get one there too.

Need to fill the frezzer.
