Geese are fun to hunt, they get smart and hard to get within shotgun range.

These are the Giant Canadas, reared right on our ponds. Their large, and four will be about enough goose meat for this year. :-k :thumb

There's a early season in MN just for the local Giant Canadas. Opened Sept 2 and will run for two weeks.

My Labs love to retrieve, and a 15 pound flapping goose is a sight to watch the dogs bring them to shore.

Great looking dogs and the geese aren't bad either. Do you run two dogs so that they can gang up on them big ol geese. :))

A blast to hunt, but sorry guys they taste like crap :>/ if you ask me. Have not found a way yet that makes them taste good. Might be the only way to cook them is to use a sheet of plywood, cook the bird through the bird away and eat the plywood.
