Our first Mule deer hunt {we are hooked}!

Michelle and I had a great trip to Nebraska other than me being deathly ill the whole time. Constant cough, throwing up and passing blood! Had a kidney stones the first day there, MISERABLE! It beat being home and miserable. We hunted hard the first day, covered several thousand acres and a lot of miles. We saw a few great bucks but not the one we wanted. I told my buddy when we saw one he would shoot, we would shoot. I agreed to let Michelle shoot the first buck so I would have a goal! ha ha! She passed on an awesome whitetail with a broken G2. Well about noon the second day we spotted a good buck bedded with a few does. We closed the distance to 125 yards and I had to remind Michelle to calm down. By now the buck was standing at a down hill slope and all she had was a quartering towards shot at the point of his shoulder. Just as she squeezed the trigger on her 7 mag the buck dropped his head to run a doe. The bullet grazed his right cheek and followed the contour of his neck outside of the skin clipping his hair nicely. He jumped and turned away from us. Michelle recovered quickly and put the next one through the giant neck! HE dropped right there. later that day I shot a nice male coyote at 210 yards with my buddy's left handed 25-06. Beautiful coyote. much later that day after not seeing any more Mule deer bucks, a farmer called my buddy and told him there had been a nice Mule deer buck hanging around the farm all day chasing does and fighting with other bucks. I went to have a look and he was nice but he left before I could get in position to shoot him. After running another buck out of the area he returned to the shelter belt to reclaim his does. I put a stalk on him and as soon as he spotted me he stopped behind a plum bush, however he made the mistake of poking his head up to see where I went. I zeroed in on his throat patch squeezed the trigger on the .243 and it was all over! We had doe permits so we were able to keep hunting coyotes. First thing the next morning it was 20 degrees ice everywhere and high winds. On the first stand we called in 7 coyotes. They were almost in range when a deer hunter inadvertently drove through our stand. This guy weighed might near 350 , he was a big feller to say the least. He was very apologetic and said it was an accident. I informed him the he did it on purpose and I was about to whoop his tail. He chuckled and apologized once more. Very nice guy to say the least.
On the next stand we called in 3 coyotes My buddy shot one and the others got away with a warning shot! We left a few for you mister Anderson. Sorry I forgot to call while I was there. I can tell you this. I been to a few states, but you'd be hard pressed to find better folks than those Nebraska boys and girls. I coughed the whole 13 hour drive back home.
For the record WE DID WEAR hunter orange and only took it off for pics in a safe location.

thanks for the great comments guys. I don't know much about mule deer except what I've read. All I knew is that I wanted to take respectable bucks for our first one's. These exceeded my expectations.

Halibutaddict, I take you know me already! :-$
