Outdoor Magazines

I have no idea how many outdoor/hunting/fishing magazines are out there but I know it is a lot!. So my question to all of you is what are your favorites and what might some of you like to see in a outdoor magazine?
Personally I am a fan of the Eastmans magazines but I also pick up many others.

Eastmans Bowhunting Journal, Eastmans Hunting Journal, and Muley Crazy Magazine are the only three I really subscribe to anymore. I get a few others for free (Bowhunter and Predator) but I wouldn't subscribe if I had to.

I'll agree, Eastmans is a great magazine and well done. MuleyCrazy has the biggest deer imaginable. Kings is also good, now Christensen Arms mag. I've tried MDF (still do), to support Mule Deer etc. I've done Field n Stream, and a few others in the past.

Currently I'm weeding most if not all out. I'm sure I'll pick one and stick with it. Most likely Eastmans or MuleyCrazy. With a possibility of Kings thrown in there.

Eastmans for me. I love reading to stories first hand as told by the hunters. I'm not overly fond of the guys that write for every magazine issue. You don't get the sense passion and excitment from them that you do when you read the eastmans articles.

I don't subsribe to anything at the moment but I have always tried to subscribe to something local to me whenever I moved, which was a lot while being in the Navy. I'll pick up a Mississippi Sportsmen now and then if the cover strikes me, otherwise I just read whatever my barber has in his shop when I go for a visit or haircut lol

I'll say, hands down, the writer I've enjoyed the most over the years has been Patrick McMannis(sp?). He wrote short hunting/fishing stories of the comic variety that hit so close to home they all had to be true. I bought my brother a set of his books that was a collection of his stories, but of course read every one before I gave them to him lol

Sad thing is I don't think he's ever read them.

I really like Eastman's & Fur, Fish & Game. Western Hunter, Huntin Fool & Trophy Hunter are also really good.

I get most of them. I do like Trophy Hunter and I just got Western Hunter, but have not received one yet. What I want to know is, is Hunting Illustrated going to honor it's subscriptions? I haven't gotten one in 4 months. I think Kings offered all those subscriptions for cheap to look more appealing to Christensens on the buyout when they offered them for 10 bucks. lol
