P&Y Convention

Well, I'll be boarding a plane tommorow aon my way to the P&Y Convention in Lancaster, PA. It should be a fun filled weekend with many seminars and some of the greatest animals ever taken by bow & arrow on display. Anyone else out there going? If so, stop by our table and chat for a while.

I'm not going but i was wondering, is this where they present potential world records to be scored by the panel of judges?

Man, I wish I could go! I agree with Brett, any way you might be able to take a few pics for us folks stuck at home?

I've already packed the camera. :)

The panel measurers have already measured the potential world records last month. They will be officially announced at the convention. One of which will be the new world record typical American Elk. I was fortunate to have ran a tape on it.......it's AWESOME!

where was that bull killed?? and do they score you brute blacktail on the panel?

The bull was arrowed by Shawn Patterson in Arizona in 2005. My buck, although nice, isn't large enough for panel. They've arrowed some BRUTES over the last two years.

That Patterson bull is a monster! I remember when the news first broke about it being a potential record. In fact, I believe I still have the pictures around somewhere. I'll see if I can find them.

Well, that was quick. Here's the photo I have of the bull.

It was a great Convention folks! Got to see some old friends and make some new ones. Big time tip of the camo hat to the UBP (United Bowhunters of Pennsylvania )....they did an outstanding job coordinating and hosting this event. I'll post some photos up soon of some of the animals displayed.

Great pics! Some might fine big game there. Is the Blacktail the one wyou killed? Or a different one. Awesome!

Thanks for sharing, that last picture with the founder is cool. He looks more
excited than you guys in his wheelchair. :)

The blacktail is not mine, I wish it was.....it scored over 168"......a monster for sure.

Yeah, Mr. St. Charles is 95 years young and still attends the conventions he started looooooong ago. Amazing!

Brett, do you know the story behind that MONSTER 258" non-typical velvet UT buck from Utah County? Not a lot of publicity over it, as that was the first time I've seen it. Buck of a lifetime for sure.

The buck is called the General buck.

Here is a link that talks about it a little. Trying to find the news paper articales that came out when it was harvested.

Roy,

Usually a guy must stand 4 feet behind an elk to make it look as big as the Patterson bull does in your picture. In that one, you guys are standing well in front of it and it still looks huge!
