Wow cool pics. You have to have a photo of what the guy looked like after the chain saw cutting. Let me guess, he is covered head to toe.

The chainsaw was a flop, all that hair got tied up in the chain and the thing wouldn't cut. they had to skin the hide back, then used a meat saw to take the head off. I don't know what the head weigh but I could hardly pick it up by myself.
I was not on the hunt, my wife had to have surgery that week.
Harry used an 30-06, Shot it 6" down from the horn and 6" back. 1 shot it dropped in it's tracks

I always wondered what the he*@ would you do with a buffalo once you shot it, now I know, you have to hike into the woods with a chainsaw on your back or you might as well bring a knife and fork :)

Wow!

The chainsaw reminds me of a movie from the 70's "Rancho Deluxe"

How long did it take?

I saw a guy quarter up an elk with a chain saw years ago. Couldn't get into the idea myself. But I use a sawzall to cut up animals. I'd bet that a cordless one with a long hack saw blade would work great once the skin was out of the way.

in new mexico the meat plant there where we would take are bulls would buy a brand new chainsaw and use nothing but vegtable oil in it. it worked great. they would get a new one each year but they cut up lots of elk with the saw each year. the down side is you did get some bone splinters occasionally in the meat. but boy was it fast!

sorry it took so long to replie, it took 7 hour to load it in the truck, 25 yrd away. Harry , his son and Harrys wife loaded it , I found out the bull was 5 years old.
