Pics of My 2006 Bull, 5 years previous to Hunt

Well a buddy down in Central Utah, sent me some pics of a bull that were taken 5 years prior to my elk hunt. They were taken in the same area where I killed my bull 5 years after the pics were taken. I have my opinion on whether it is the same bull... What do you think.

If not the same one, definately the same genectics. I enjoyed the video of your hunt.

Same genetics without a doubt. The bull in the first picture had to be at least 5-7 years old based on the thickness which would have made your bull 10-12 years old? I guess anything is possible. If the meat was tough or just not that good it may be an indicator of whether or not it was the same. Hey - either way... what a shoulder mount that monster would make....

same genetics no way its the same bull 5 years later. That lil guy on the right is more likley him,the bull you killed looks like he in in his prime,if that older bull lived another 5 years he would be obviously ancient, color and body shape wise.

What was the age of your bull? I know with LE tags in Utah you have to supply a tooth to the DWR for aging. The DWR should have sent you a letter with this information. I killed a bull on 2002 that was 10 years old. So it could very well be the same bull..........Congrats on a great bull :thumb

Hiker,

The video was rough around the edges but showed you how it went down without any cuts or edits.

Buckmaster,

When I originally looked up the age of my bull on the UDWR website it said, Your Bull Elk's age = 1... I thought this was goofy as I'm no expert but, I know it wasn't a 1 year old bull. I ended up calling the division and they said that it was 10+ years old.

I will try to post a pic of his back left antler that I think sealed my oppinion on the bull. Here it is...

Sorry about the last picture, it removed the right 1/4 of the pic. I cropped and here is a better view. I think it is the same bull personally. But if not, it is an offspring.

That's the main reason I really enjoyed it. That's usually how hunts go down, refreshing to see some raw footage. Again great job and great bull. =D>
