Poperly seated Load ?

I was told once that you ramrod should bounce when dropped on the a properly seated load . A also have heard you should just seat the load firmly to a mark on your ramrod. Which way do you prefer ??

All I have done is seat to the mark.

When I first started hunting with a muzzleloader a few years back, I was told to seat the ball and then bounce the ramrod three times. Since then I just seat it to the mark.
