Thanks Huntin For Life for posting these for me.

I shot him this year on the Fishlake/Thousand Lake LE Unit. Never got an official score, but the taxadermist and I both figured 378 gross. I took him down with one shot using a 7mm rem mag with a 150gr Nosler Balistic tip right in the boiler. I was fortunate enough to get drawn in for years. Actually, I didn't get drawn, someone forfitted there tag and I was next in line. My first bull elk hunt. My greatest hunting experience to date. I am hooked and want to be able to do it again. I need to find info on hunting other states being that I will probably never get drawn in Utah again.

Thanks to all for your comments. I would not consider it a hard unit to hunt. I have been hunting the cow elk off and on for the last 8yrs. Kinda know my way around. My dad hunted deer in the area when I was young. Only took me a day or so to locate some bulls. I could have shot 5-10 different smaller bulls each day but was holding out for something nice. I saw this one and last light opening day but could not get a shot off. Shot him on the 3rd evening. A lot of other hunters I talked to said they were not seeing anything. Most of them did not leave the road or get off their 4wheelers. I did witness another hunter shoot an awsome older bull that scored in the 360s on opening day. His bases were 14" in diameter. Later found out that that bull had traveled over 100 miles through 3 different units. Sheds from him last year scored 390+
