Pre- scouting the Henry's

Sorry, no pics. If you feel this is a worthless post without pics I'll refrain in the future.

Over in the post, "I drew a great tag" i mentioned that my brothers room-mate drew a Herny's rifle deer tag. He and my brother did some fishing down south and decided to swing by the Henry's to start getting familiar with the area. After driving around several road and not seeing anything as far as deer go, they decided to set-up and call a couple of coyote stands. There's one less fawn killer on the Henry's now. At another stand they called and had twelve does stood up out of a grove of stunted pines. The watched for a bit and then noticed a buck near by. They said it looked like he had velvet tree stumps growing straight out of his head. They seemed pretty excited about going back to check his progress out.

Again no pics, but hound hunter said to keep you all updated on the the hunt and preparations. So this was the first in most likely several updates should you care to receive any.

yea, thats cool they were able to help the predator control along with scouting. i have a great imagination so im just going to picture the buck as being the second coming of POPEYE lol . they might as well start taking pics of bucks so they can take them home and really look over the buck they might want to consintrate [sp??] on. [ and so we can see too....]

Thanks for the info. Keep’em coming.

I'm going to be scouting down there in a couple weeks for my upcoming hunt. I'll take a camera with me and I'll report back here ;).

What are the laws for coyote hunting down there? Wouldn’t mind some target practice while I'm down there.

Coyote in Utah are not a protected specie. Like jack rabbits, you can hunt them year round without a license.
