Wayne, that's some beautiful country!

In what kind of context are ya askin' the question? What I mean is, Are ya asking us if it looks like good Muley country or are ya askin' us if we would take on the challenge of hunting that kind of country?

I would certainly hunt that country! Of course, I would have to do my scouting and such and figure out what type of animals it holds, hunting pressure, etc.
It would be a blast to hike into that country with a good friend or two and spend 4 or 5 days out there....

I guess the first question has to be, what are you hunting for and is there sign of that animal??

Wayne, I agree with the rest. I personally like to hunt that type of country and I cover every inch. Those ole' bucks sure know how to stay hidden in that broken country.

Definitely looks easier than where I hunt. Or at least not as steep.

I was looking through my last years photos. And with the cooler mornings, and in last half of August. I'm Getting anxious to get out there.

Yup for sure this is Muley country. One thing nice about it is, walk in only. Most of the deer are a mile or more back in and most of the hunters are near the trails or road hunting.

Bad land is sure a lot different than mountain hunting and heavy cover hunting. I think these badland muleys are more the running variety. Don't care about hiding from you, they prefer to get into the next township.

Hawk, I'm interested what other Muley hunters think of the open, broken country. Or if you guys like the mountain and canyon hunting. There are fair numbers of Mule Deer in this stuff. It has potential for some big guys.

My WY hunt is in the high mountains and some very steep stuff. Lots of timber and cover. I like that to, but I really enjoy tramping these badlands. The deer are more visible, and in a good day and lots of hiking it's not unusual to see 50 - 100 deer. And if your not careful when you see them their going over a far ridge.

I'm planning a mid Sept scouting and bird hunting trip, hope it works out.

This is the pic I wanted instead of the second one above.

Like lots of photos, hard to tell how rough the country really is.
These are some very rough, rugged badlands. :thumb

That looks like great country to hunt. I perfer to hunt that type of area that wide open and rugged country can hold lots of deer.
