Simple answer....yes!

On a long hunt I would be hard pressed to pull the trigger on the first day. However, although the pic is small that buck sure looks worthy of a short hunt!

Depends on the unit I'm hunting and what I've seen while scouting. It's a beautiful buck though.....

It depends on where you are hunting. Looks like a great buck for a Utah general season though.

One year I was hunting a whitetail lease out of San Angelo, Texas. They dropped me off at a likely spot a few minutes before daylight. A really nice 10 point wandered by right after legal shooting light. He had a great rack but he just looked like a young deer so I let him walk. That was the best deer I saw on that place FOR 3 YEARS. i'd shoot.

I for sure would not. :-k With 50 days of hunting, I just love the hunt to much (@@) And when you see a buck that big you know your in a good area, there will be more. :thumb

If the opportunity presented itself, yes sir. Like they say, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Yeah, I think he'd have to die, even if there were 49 more days to hunt. If I didn't see another buck that big, I'd never forgive myself.

Heads or Tails
Every hunt despite the unit or area has a defining moment. And yes, for 90% of mule deer hunts out there that would be a buck of most defining moments, meaning if you choose not to shoot you need to be satisfied with the possibility of going home with your tag or a buck of smaller size. You will never kill a bigger buck if you shoot a smaller one so you need to draw your line. Even regardless of what you may have seen scouting, if you have an opportunity to "kill" a buck like this--that is your defining moment. Finding and killing a another buck you saw scouting is a whole new story.

"When a defining moment comes along you define the moment or the moment defines you."

so uh, yes or no?? :)) :)) couldn't agree more, if you let him go, no complaining if you go home with nothing.

As for me killerbee, I have been known for my pickyness or particularness and I have gone home with a lot of tags I could hang on the wall, matter of fact I have every hunting liscence I have had since I started hunting.

As for this buck........yes I woud be flipping arrows or slinging lead.

Wize old hunter once say! Never pass up a deer on the first day that you would be happy with on the last day. I try to live by this motto......
