Questions about South Dakota Mule Deer

Hello,
This September me and two of my buddies are heading out to Wall, South Dakota for a mule deer hunt. I have never mule deer hunted before and I guess I'm just wondering what I'm getting into. What I should buy/bring. This is a 8 day archery hunt. On 160,000 acre ranch. Any advise would be very helpful. Do you sit in the mornings and at night, or do you stalk in the mornings? What works the best? Thanks Dave

Welcome to the site Dave!

To start, please go to the thread entitled "MuleyMadness Roll Call", introduce yourself and tell us a little about ya. Most folks are more than willing to share info if they know a little about the guy they are sharing with. A lot of folks are reluctant to share info with someone who just logs onto the site to pimp for info and then we never hear from them again or hear how the hunt ended.

Share a little too. Maybe some stories and pics from past hunts...and it doesn't matter what you were hunting either. Just a suggestion.

Take care and good luck!

spot and stalk if your hunting river bottoms you just try and get ahead of deer leaving field or you sit in treestands on trails that leave or enter the fields, or you spot them bedded and sneek in on them and zip them with a arrow. I'm sure the guys who own the ranch will be able to enlighten you on how they have hunted their own place.
