rough country

This was taken during last years muzzleloader hunt. I saw over 50 bucks in this area. It took about 4 hours to hike in. I needed a days rest to go up again on day 3 but it sure was worth it. Not an atv in sight. ???

Beautiful! I used to be somewhat younger than I am now and I would go looking for those places. Nothing more humbling than sitting on top of one of those mountains and just looking. I am not a religeous man but when I get to places like that, I believe there is a God. You look around and realize that all those trees and no two exactly alike. Last time I did it was with my favorite cousin, who just happens to be a minister. It was spring and we were noticing these unbelieveably delicate little flowers. Up there it gets below zero in the winter and over a hundred in the summer. How do those plants survive? Then some club footed goon comes along and mashes them for fun. There are flowers and plants all over and in all the world, no two alike, go figure.

Well its not often I give a sermon like this but if in fact there is a God and my cousin assures me there is, ya gotta think he's sending us a message when we get into those places. Beautiful beautiful photo!

Here's a pic. of me at the summit. I really did make it up there. lol Two guys were camped in the pines with horses. My goal this year is to find the water source. If horses can stay up there for 3 days. There must be alot of water.

I'm not talking about snow runoff. Do you know of a spring nearby or who camps up there each year. It is a well used camp and has been there many years.

there is an elk wallow near there, I'm surprised you didnt see it. The bulls should have been tearin it up during that hunt!
