I was going to say "American Wigeon" too. ref: National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Birds.
I may be able to help you get even better shoots, now that it looks like you are getting the hang of it. You are going to get hooked now and your going to want to get the best shot your camera will produce. I'm going to need more info. What are your camera setting? Are you shooting jpeg or raw? Did you use a tripod? Have you cropped the shots? You got the sun in the eyes, that can make a good shot a great one.
