Been up one day and saw a lot of tracks in the mud. My buddy just got his pics off of his trailcam and its definitely going to be a real good year. Cant wait for August to get here!!

going camping this weekend to scout for my wifes antelope tag. hopefully we can find a couple of 15" [ at least good solid 14"] goats for her
as far as my archery elk, it's not real scoutable, meaning i would go to the same spot and see plenty of elk every time. i just need september to get here so i can hunt them. i'm not a tree stand hunter so i dont need to pack salt or such things in. i'll still do a backpack trip in late july to aug. to stash some food but as far as their habits, i've been in that area a long time and it's mostly the same year after year.

but man i cant wait!!

Heading to Utah over the long holiday weekend to do some scouting and photography. i don't have a tag......I'm just scouting for next year as a back-up area to go if other areas fall through and check on spots I've hunted in the past. Good excuse to get out of the 110+ heat too!

I've been out 3 different mornings and one evening so far this year. Mostly just for fun and sheer enjoyment not scouting. I saw 13+ different bucks last week in one morning and an evening. Was tons of fun. Will be middle of July before I get out again, but I'll hit it hard and hope to get some amazing photos of big bucks galore. :)

Almost all of my fun and photography are not in the area I have a tag for though. I should probably spend more time finding deer I can actually chase/hunt. :-k

I'm with you Ike...unfortunately my hunting spots are too far away to be able to do some scouting so I'm wearing out Google Earth and maps. Plan on getting to my unit a few days before the season opens to try and find that big one. Going to scout some TX whitetails this weekend and hope to get some pics....

I have been out 1 to 2 times a week for a few weeks already. I will also be out three times this week and will probably put in around 15 to 20 miles hiking. I have been looking mostly for deer, and have also been looking for a MT goat for a friends once in a life time hunt.

There are no big bucks in Utah this year lol

I dont really need to scout where i hunt, I've been hunting there for the past 10 yrs(when i draw the tag). I know where to go find the deer and get away from people. Also google earth is my friend :thumb

Went to Co last week, watched three bulls between thunderstorms one evening. Was up about 1150ft climed a rock face about 35ft to a stand of aspen and supprised 9 mulies. I guess no ones approached em from that direction. Hope those bulls hang out for awhile.

Anyone get out over the weekend? I got to talk to a biologist in Nevada today, great lady and very hunter friendly...Had some great info and you could tell she spends the time in the field... :thumb

Sure did......got back yesterday from a loooong weekend in southern Utah. Hooked up with a friend, Jeremy Houston, and we photographed a few awesome bucks on a piece of property he has access to...........I'm sure Jer would love to post them.........but it's difficult when you realize after you're done that morning you forgot to put the memory card in your camera. lol

I'll post up the few I have once I get them downloaded. Had a great time in the cool weather........hated to return home to 113 degrees! :>/
