Severe clear and 23° this morning

The only sight better than a high mountain hillside with blazing orange maples and oakbrush down low, followed by gleaming golden aspens contrasted amongst dark green pines up higher, is walking up to long tines materializing above the mountian grasses in the middle of all the colors.

i miss seeing those hillside change color this time of year. in new mexico, it was almost an overnight change. when the aspens started turning red, elk season had officially started!
