Shed huntin' partner.

In December of 2008 I decided to get my self a lab pup and teach her to hunt sheds. At seven weeks old I started with the basic commands and shed training immediatly. Daisy is now 20 months old and she is doing well. She personally found 30 unassisted antlers on her owne that I would not have found if she wasn't with me. She does not get credit for finding an antler if I see it first. I find many antlers using binoculars so I kinda have an unfair advantage. Still, on our last three outings she found more than I did. Its been fun and very rewarding to watch her progress. On my very last outing I found three rattle snakes and decided that shed hunting season was over. Here are some pictures. fatrooster.

Very cool.

I am going to have to train my pup when I get one in a couple of years to find sheds as well as retrieve ducks.

That's great! Looks like you get into some scenic country. I have a dog that was a great shed hunter when he was younger. He is also a bird dog. He decided he likes birds more then bone, so now all he does is look for birds. ](*,)
