Sighted in the .243 today and was pretty surprised at the average groups. The gun is an un-modified Rem 788 in .243 with an 18" barrel and simmons 3x9x40mm scope. This gun is completely stock, not even bedded (yet). The ammo used was HSM 100 grain pointed soft points. This was at 100 meters (109.3 yards).

1. Purchase a Timney for $90 and have an adjustable trigger from 2 to 6 lbs
2. Pay a smith i know $55 to put it at 2 lbs and have it not adjustable.
my unmodded savage 223 with 45 grainers with do just about that! quite amazing for a mass produced lower end price tagged gun! savage are so underrated but they are accurate and great i paid 400 dollars for it im pretty happy with it. the heavy grains dont do quite as well
