Silvies OR, Late season Elk

I've hunted the Silvies before for Mulies, but not Elk. Am heading up there in early November. Any recommendations on tactics and locations. Not interested in your special spots, just general info on what I might expect. I'll be in the Egypt Canyon area and also near the forest fire watchtower peak. Thanks in advance.
