Slick Tricks?

Well just curious if anyones had experience with these heads? I thought I would give them a go this next weekend. They seem great, and are flying, like they say, "like a feild piont". Hope they do well?

I will be giving them a try this year too. I have a moose tag so hopefully I can try them out on a deer and a elk first. I will keep ya posted. :arrow

I bought some last week and started shooting them this week, they fly pretty well. I have the 125 gr. magnums and they do make a small whistling noise in flight at 280 fps, but the accuracy is pretty good.
They are dropping a bit more at 50 yards than I expect, but I can still get a 6" group at that distance without any real flyers.
Give them a try.
Some others to check out:
wac ems' triton
g5 strikers (I have heard they don't make the noise the montecs do)

I used the slick tricks last spring on a hog hunt and I had a little problem with arrow penetration. I imagine with enough poundage you wouldn't have any problems - I think my bow was set at 50 pounds at the time. But I think the combination of lower poundage, the steeper angle of the blades, and the thicker skin of the animal contributed to my lack of pass through. I don't think I would have had any problem on fairer game like deer - but I honestly haven't tried them since. I think a girlfriend of mine (who was hunting there with me) shoots around 45 pounds but was using Thunderheads - she nailed a hog, complete pass through, same shot placement.
My husband took an antelope a few years back, shooting 65 pounds, didn't have a problem with penetration, but the blade did come out of the ferrel.
I went straight back to my Thunderheads and haven't had a problem since (or before the slick trick encounter), and have recovered every animal I've shot at with them. That's just my broadhead of choice, it works well for me, and obviously I have more confidence with them.
Let us know how they work out if you use them. Good luck on your hunt! 4c
