Camera is a Panasonic Lumix FZ7 W/ Leica lens. I would have got the 8 megapixel but its so close it wasnt worth the extra $200 for me.
I got this at circuit city and suggest getting one from a big retailer who has accidental insurance, ESPECIALLY for us wildlife buffs. You drop it break it kick in a river as long as you get the majortiy of it back they will replace it. Something will happen to your cameras in the mountains eventually!
Look for cameras over 5 megapixel, at least 10x optical zoom (digital zoom can be done on a computer) get Image stabilizing and I prefer to have manual focus and auto focus. The only down fall of the FZ7 I have found is the lack of the ability to zoom in and out while recording movies. But c'est la vie besides I dont really use the video takes up too much space on the card.
