Southern Utah Buck

Here are some pictures of a buck that was shot on the Paunsagaunt premium limited entry unit in southern Utah. The only thing that it said was that it measures 32" wide.

A guy here at work knows the person that guided this hunter so I think that it would be safe to say that this is one of the bucks that came off of the privete ground down there.

bigbuck,

You're right I never could pull my eyes away from that buck long enough to look at the rest of the picture. I didn't notice the hole in it's antler or the way they had the gun sitting. If it was me that gun would be resting right in the middle of the rack.

The guy on the left in the bottom photo is Dennis Wintch, he writes for Kings Hunting Illustrated Magazine and is an avid Mule Deer Hunter.

Not sure who the lucky hunter is.

I've never liked those rifle in the gut pics either, but am sure the moment got to them before they realized the direction.

Crazy on the hole in the base, makes for a cool mount and story I suppose. I guess the rack was so big, it was a tough shot. Been there done that, but didn't hit horns...just plain missed.

Brett

I've heard private, then public land on this one. So not sure on that.

Great eye bigbuck92! Never was a fan of having the muzzle of a rifle pokin' me in the chest.

As for the ding in the antler, I wonder if he did that or if the buck had been hit by some unlucky hunter?

The email that I got never did say if it was public or private land.

If I ever see one that size and I have a tag for it I will promise you that I'll be shaking so bad that the buck wouldn't have to worry about me hitting him. :)

I think it would have had to been on private land, CWMU or something since the pic says october 8th, i'm pretty sure the regular rifle hunt was not going at that time. But that's what I like to call a BIG "MO" MULEY if you know what i'm sayin.

The rifle hunt started on the 7th of October there, so perfectly fine there. Looks like he was taken on the 2nd day. My guess is he easily could have been public, but who knows.
