Spidy dead????

I heard that a lucky person killed spiderman bull last week? The rumor I heard was the tines up boys took a vietnam disabled vet in with a cross bow and got him? They say it will score 451 3/8 and possibly net 414. Now like I said I heard it was a rumor so just wanting to know if any one else has heard it????? :-k

If this is true, congrats and no better of person then someone who served for this country to make it possible for all of us to hunt. :thumb

Again, all I heard was a rumor.....

i've heard the same thing a few different times. but i've heard different scores each time. up to 471?? but most of the guys say it's just a rumer. i think it probably is, if it was killed , with the following it has, it would be well known IMO. if it's true then that would be a great person to kill it!

I've heard rumors also, but I don't believe them. I think he is still alive and well.

:-$ Remember, this 'farm' bull was supposed to be a 'sitting duck'. lol The disabled hunter killed a good bull, but he didn't have 8 legs.

You can't even spell correctly when you are talking out your backside. I thought this was a 'farm' bull that was a sitting duck. :-k This is what happens when educated bulls live in the wild, they find ways to disappear, w/o the assistance of the "goon squad". (@@)

We all know exactly who you are referring to, and if he, they, or them were here to defend themselves, you could banter and slander all you'd like. Until then please put your garbage elsewhere.

Now, back to spidey!
I bumped into a "person of the know" a few hours ago at Cabelas, He said there is more than one big non-typical on the monroe this year, spidey being the biggest. One of them is dead, and it's not spidey. Take that as you will.....

Actually Id like you to make it perfectly clear what you think you know, the GOON squad is any group of outfitters or their employees camping on this bull as was reported several times by guys who know.If I hurt your feelings then you are probably one of them, get over it. :thumb

He didn't get that big by being stupid and he obvoiusly knows what's up, so he aint going down without a fight.

So I wonder how many rumors get started just to get other people off the mountain......

Personally it will be bittersweet if/when he is taken. He is such a beautiful animal, but man he sure gets the dust stirred up around here. People cant even mention him without opening up pandoras box........

I just hope that the hunter that takes that bull really appreciates him and is not just some guy with a lot of money who bought his way to a tag and then bought his way to the bull.

It would be great to see a youth take him.

First let me say that I didn't know a bull could grow antlers like that. Is he on a game farm or hunting preserve?

Nope, word is that he's 100% wild and 100% on public land. Just in a limited entry unit.

That is the word, who knows officially, but I will give the benefit of the doubt. One of the Mossback episodes displayed a 400+ notypical monster a few years ago; they even showed the previous years footage where they passed on him, a lot can happen in a year I guess with nutrition and hierarchy maybe. Who knows maybe he makes it into the winter to die of old age, just kidding.

It could happen. Especially if he isn't down yet. With as many people as there is on that mountain i'd be slipping away in the darkness too.

well i heard the rumor and i heard its just that! rumor was a 478 gross 461 net i heard but its not true that disabled fella shot a 340 bull and they never spotted spidy.i heard this from some monroe locals. i understand no one has seen ol spidy in a few weeks and i would not doubt that one,all the peopple that have been out waatching him have probably pushed him a long ways into who knows whrer.im sure someone knows where he is but i sure hope a local diy hunter get him! and not mossback,or other guide service. i wanna see a regular joe get a big boy without the high dollar hype spent on sending tons of people into the woods to watch every nook and cranny of an area til he is found. i dont feel that is ethical. 100+ people and thousands and thousands of $$$'s vs 1 bull. not fair chase in my mind!i hope he gave the slip and is sitting 100 miles away in the thick timbers not to been seen till the sheds are found.or unless a diy hunter findss him first..

I agree, I'd love to see a diy get him, especially if it's a diy'er that puts in the time to scout and is hunting that bull, rather than just someone that stumbles on him. Or, let him live to pass on his genes for another year! I personally don't like the idea of a youth getting him, as was suggested earlier. It's been my experience that a youth just doesn't appreciate something like that as much as an adult, and I think it kind of ruins the youth to get the biggest thing he or she will ever kill, at the beginning of their hunting career. It's also been my experience that when a new hunter, youth or adult, gets something too easily or too big as his or her first experience in hunting, it often makes them lose interest in hunting in the long run. Not always of course, but it seems to have that effect for some reason.
