Spike Elk on Opening Day!

We drove to Scofield to our land and the whole way there it was snowing, We almost debated turning around and going home cause we thought we wouldn't see at thing in the snow, since it turned into a blizzard! But we got to our spot and sure enough, the elk were right where we figured they'd be! There were 2 big bulls and 14 spikes! Can you believe that?! Not one cow! I took my shot at 325 yards and he was galloping. My dad and neighbor were there and wouldn't stop talking about how great of a shot it was! I was so happy!

right on! you SHOULD BE proud of yourself! 325 yards is no gimme, and you obviously made an absolutly perfect shot! hope you weren't planning on having heart for dinner lol .

14 spikes! wow. I hunted all week and never saw even a cow. You have a honey hole there for sure. Call if you ever need some to help cull the heard. :thumb

Congrats! I've have yet to see a spike, I've seen plenty of big bulls though.

Yep haha! I called them all to my area! They thought a girl couldn't shoot. But they thought wrong haha ;)
