Nikon and vortex are decent for the money, Zeiss is not bad either.

You will get what you pay for.

Check out CamerlandNY http://cameralandny.com/ Doug always has some good deals

Don't overlook the Pentax ED series they are great at any price and are much less than the big names. The lens selection is endless as they accept astronomical telescope lenses of which Pentax arguably makes the best.

As with any optic, buy the best you can afford. I bought my swarovski sts 80 used (but like new) off of ebay for considerably less than retail.

Thank you guys for help I'm gonna keep lookin into pentax and vortex I wish there was somewhere I can go to look through a couple long range lol I'm scared that it will look nice in the store but not in the field lol

Don't hesitate to ask the retailer to take the scopes outside and look through them in natural light. I know this may be harder to do in big store such as cabela's or sportman's warehouse than it would be in a smaller sporting goods store. However, like you said you want to be sure it is the one you want and if the retailer wants to make a sale, they should be willing to do this.

I have used a Nomad from Vortex for two years and it has erformed very well! I am getting ready to sell it as I would prefer to have a straight model vs. the angled. PM me if interested.
