Starting to get the hunt ready

I decided Iam going to give it a shot at bow hunting mule deer this year! I found in area that is about 8500-10490 ft in elevation. It will be a 4 hour drive from my house and it is 1.5 miles of the dirt road. That may not seem that far but it is about a 20 mile dirt road and it is right at the end of the road. But how do I even know there is deer there? This summer a friend and I am going to be fishing in the alpine lakes where we would probley set up camp and do a little deer scouting. So I guess you could say Iam a little pumped! does this seem Like a good area from what I have described?

All this info is what I gathered off of google earth so I hope that is what the country is like!

DEER WILL BE IN THE LEAST LIKELY OF PLACES. IF IT LOOKS LIKE A HONEY HOLE, MORE THAN LIKELY YOU WILL HAVE COMPANY COME SEPTEMBER. ELEVATION IN IS IRRELEVANT. DEER ARE EVERY WHERE. FIND SOMETHING WORTH CHASING IN JULY, THEN LEARN HIS EVER MOVE UNTIL SEPTEMBER. IF ONLY FINDING A REALLY GOOD LOOKING SPOT WAS ALL WE HAD TO DO TO GET A MONSTER, THE BENCHMARK WOULD BE CLOSER TO 300". GOOD LUCK.

P.S. UNIT 39 LATE SEASON (NOVEMBER) IS ABOUT AS GOOD AS IT GETS!

JUST REMEMBER, YOU CAN HIKE TO THE FAR REACHES OF THE PLANET. LET YOUR EYE'S, AND INSTINCT LEAD YOU TO THE DEER. BE PATIENT, AND USE YOUR BINOC'S AND SPOTTING SCOPE TO DO YOUR WALKING. NO USE COVERING 5 MILES OF STEEP COUNTRY TO FIND NOTHING. YOUR BEST BET IS GET AS HIGH AS YOU CAN, AND SIT FOR THREE DAYS LOOKING THROUGH YOUR SPOTTING SCOPE. DO THAT IN JULY AND AUGUST, AND COME SEPTEMBER YOU WILL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT KIND OF DEER THAT COUNTRY HOLDS.

I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD END THIS WITH: "GRASSHOPPER"............
