Simply AWESOME
Is anyone going up the the expo? I will be there to show my buck. I'm taking him to the taxi tomorrow.
You guys need to see him in person. It is hard to show all of the "pretty" trash that he has!
Thanks again,
Stephanie
What booth will you have your buck in Stephanie. I want to make sure to stop by and see it.
How will this buck be measured now that it has been repaired?
I'm assuming the repair is not removeable?
Or Steph, do you just not care about the book?
Just wondering..............
Chet:
Not a stupid question at all. B&C accepts repaired trophies for the record books on a case by case basis. Trophies that have been repaired can be accepted by the Records Committee if the owner or the Official Measurer identifies the repair, and if the repair is made with the original antler material.
When scoring any trophies that have been repaired, no portion of the repaired material can be included in any measurement nor can any allowance be made for lost material. For example, measurements of repaired points or main beams can only be taken to the point of the break.
Or did you mean that the tines have to be antler and not some other synthetic material? not necesarily off of the same deer... just want to clarify.....
Fixed or broken, that deer is
To fix or not to fix, it would be a hard decision for me, a decision I hope to someday be confronted with!!! Heck the biggest deer I've killed probably scores less than what was broken off of Stephs buck lol
I beleive I heard the Gov tag buck was intact when shot, but broke during the death crash, now a scenario like that you could easily find the broken parts for repair. Or if a chunk was shot off during the excitement. However to find broken tips and cheaters from a rutting/fighting buck would be near impossible!!!! now i'm just rambling..... carry on folks!
That used to be the rule for B&C.....however, that changed......they now may accept it with the original broken piece as long as it fits cleanly back in for measurement. However, as stated in my first reply, it's a case by case basis that the Records Committee must approve.
As for my buck, the taxi fixed the broken tips. We didn't find any of the tips and I don't think we could. There was about 8" of snow at the time and then more snow added on after that. Plus, there were a "few" days in-between while he had broke them off. Finding those broken tips would be near impossible if you ask me.
Who cares anyway, a big buck is a big buck! The almighty score doesn't matter that much to me. It's only "one" way to guage how big a buck is, that's all!
