stolen elk horns

my buddy found this killer set from a 340-350 bull in northeast oregon 2 weeks ago. he was pretty excited- WAS...
he found the set early in the day . he was going to make another hike to find more sheds and was going to pack them with him. he and the guy he went with decided instead he should just stash the horns and pick them up before he left. he put them in a crazy, nasty thicket with his coat wrapped around the horns. he was gone all of 1 1/2 hrs and found his sheds gone! the sitka jacket he had wrapped around them was still there.
yes , he'll probably never "stash" antlers again. but somebody new they were found and took them.
it's a long shot but if anyone happens to hear or see a set like these, please shoot me a P.M.
he has basic 6x6 frame but a "little bump" on his right side that is in place of g-6
and on his left , the antler is swollen where a g-6 would be.
thanks- KB

Hope your friend can get them back.
That is a beautiful set.
too bad someone had been watching him and then had the balls to steal them. They will turn up sooner or later.. Watch the WA and OR hunting sites. Some one will get greedy and post their picture.
Wish you luck
I would think that they HAD to see him hide them if they were hidden as well as you stated. That makes it even worse IMO.
worst part is he is a pack mule, who normally has a pack loaded with sheds. never "stashes " but was convinced there was nothing to worry about. :>/
he didn't know the guy with him that well at all, deffinatly his first gut feeling was that he had moved them when they split up. he said where they were at, the odds of anyone even looking at them in glasses would have been slim because they had just went over a lip on a hill that you really couldn't glass. and i seen a pics of the nest he left them in , you litterally would have watched him place them there to know it. it's to bad :>/
live and learn i suppose :>/
