I finally got around to reading all the stories that have been submitted to the site and truly enjoyed the majority of them. Great tales of hunting with family and friends while in the pursuit of the buck/bull of a lifetime. However, there were a few stories that I was very surprised to see posted. I know not every hunt that ends with a trophy buck or bull is a tale to enrapture the reader. Some trophies are taken as one arrives at their hunting area, take a few steps into the country and there he is. What surprised me are the stories that have to do with the road hunters. Next to poaching, road hunting is one of my pet peeves. One story goes on to say that after they spotted the animal from the seat of the pickup, they stopped and unloaded the four wheeler so they could get ahead of the buck! Is that what is considered hunting?!? I would love to shoot every animal 10 yards off the road to make the drag much easier, but I'm not going to start hunting out of my vehicle. I'm sure there are others in here that feel the same way I do. I am just very surprised that the website administrator put these road hunting stories on the site. The one exception is the individual who was physically handicapped and had a license to hunt from a vehicle. One story even told the story of a child riding the roads with his dad as he shot his first buck! What is that teaching the youth? The other pet peeve I have is shooting way beyond one's abilities. A handful of the stories tell about shooting in excess of 400 yards...at running animals! I'm not trying to say I am a saint by any means, but there are such things as hunter's ethics. One story of a father who brought his son hunting shows the lack of hunter's ethics. If you haven't read ALL the stories I would suggest you do. For the site administrator I would recommend not putting these types of stories on the site and let the authors know why. I would have submitted the story of the great buck I got this past season but it's not one of those stories of determination and long hours put into the hunt. I was just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.

you are right, some of the stories are really quite unbelievable. I personally don't road hunt but do not consider it illegal or unethical. As long as the hunter leaves the vehicle and doesn't shoot over or on highways, I don't really care. I think it's cool that so many people hunt the roads, that just leaves me with more animals and opportunities to shoot animals off the beaten path.
Well i dont get along with people who road hunt, the sight administrater should make a campfire place where u can bs.

I agree with the campfire idea, I bet we could hear some real crazy stories of shooting at plastic deer the fish and game has set up.
