Surgery finally over with

Well I was finally able to get my ankle operated on yesterday. They were able to drill out the bad bone and replace it with a donated bone. They had to cut my fibula in half to get to the bad part on my talus. So now I have another dudes bone in my ankle and a plate and 6 screws in my leg bone. Now I just have to focus on my recovery. Hopefully I will be fully operational by the end of september for my father in-laws speed goat hunt.

I appreciate all your well wishes. My son is doing very well and has grown quite an appetite for elk meat. He is on the right track to be a hunter for sure!
I am trying to use some of you guys who drew great tags as motivation to push myself through recovery.
Even though I didn't draw any tags this year I am still supposed to be hunting with my friends and family.

Hopefully the donor bone came from a dude that was an insane hiker/hunter and it gives you great stamina after you heal. :thumb
