Tag Soup!

Well this year I applied and drew my first cow elk tag along with my dad. Hunted 4 and a half hard days in unit 61, 71 in Nevada and had a great time, although no elk. Saw a decent amount of elk but could never really get into position. Missed once at a jogging elk at about 200 yards just as it went over a ridge, not a good shot but figured it was the only chance I might get, another time I glassed a lone elk moving through the trees and attempted to get a shot on her but she busted us as we were stalking through the trees. Had a great time but I think it may be our last elk hunt in a while just because its so far away (7 hours) its just hard to get the time. Sadly I wasnt thinking and applied for this area for deer also and am not going to be able to make a return trip. Fun hunting trip but dissapointed I will not be able to get something this year.
