Please forgive my ignorance (???) What is the difference between a shed and an atl? I don't shed hunt but come across them while attempting to find antlers on the hoof :)) . I just want to know the meaning of what I am reading so that I can enjoy it even more.

JL...you are certainly NOT ignorant in asking that question. Truth be told, for the longest time I had no idea either. However, I didn't want to come out and ask so I just watched the posts and eventually I figured it out.

ATL stands for "As they lay". In other words, pics of the shed as they were found vice pics after they have been picked up or brought home.

For a while there I thought that "ATL" was used as an abbreviation for "antler"... lol
