Thanks for your help!!

I've returned from my first Mule deer hunt out west (Colorado unit 55). Empty handed, but hopefully wiser for the next trip. I want to express my thanks for all your help, especially to Oakbrush and BOHNTER. Oakbrush even went out of his way to do some scouting in my unit!!!!

It is true that you can't be in good enough shape. I felt like I was operating at about 50% capacity at 10-11,000 feet. My pack ended up being way too heavy for me at about 50 pounds. I ended up carrying only a pint of water in areas with regular water sources, and left out the tripod. It would have been nice to have a 10x42 pair of binos and left the spotting scope behind. The Siltarp (integral designs), cabelas bivy bag, therarest z-lite, and pocket rocket stove worked great. A lighter pack and sleeping bag would have been nice.

Good luck to everyone out there this season, and thanks again!!
