This is the cougar that killed one of our calves a week before i captured this picture.
I set the trail cam on an old cow trail leading back towards the family ranch. The cougar is still in the area staying close to the rock outcroppings and canyon gorges, only coming down at night to hunt the lush river bottoms, were game is plentiful. Ive been patterning this young tom learning his travel habits by following and studing his tracks he travels the same route every couple of days which happens to be this cow trail.
January first marks a new hunting year here in Arizona and for me a Lion tag, i will set more cameras up hoping to find more habits and routes this cat is using .hopefully more pic and a cougar in january.
