Laredo- You'd have to admit that Boulder is conservative compared to Ward, CO. We were in that area a few years back and I decided to take my family through downtown Ward, you know a field trip. Though it's a small town, we got into a traffic jam. A man was in the middle of the road, riding on a horse bareback and he was yelling up to a bunch of people and they were having a meeting. The fellow on the horse looked kinda strange as he was in shorts, barefoot & didn't have a shirt on but what caught our attention was the sword that he had on his side. He sat there in the middle of the road for a good five minutes, holding up the traffic in both directions. I told my brother in law, who use to live in Boulder and his wife is a native Boulderite about it and he said, " that man who was on the horse, he's the mayor". Rumor has it that the flower children who left California & moved to Boulder found Boulder to be way to conservative and legalistic so they loaded up and moved to Ward.
