The best thing to do with Scents and cover scents out West.......................................................................................................... Put em in the trash can... ](*,) Best luck I have ever had was taking a tarsal gland from a mature buck and placing it on a bush... Bucks did visit it and were very agressive when near it... Don't put it on you person during rut, you could get trampled! All just my own opinion...

Personally never had any luck with scents when it comes to Mule deer, whitetails on the other hand, I have some that seemed to work well and some not at all.

I would agree with TGWH here. I have NEVER had any luck getting Mule deer to respond to scents at all. (I am a rifle hunter and do not hunt them during the rut. However, I love to head out during their rut and have tried numerous times to get them to come in to calls, rattles, scents, etc).

Whitetail however are a different story. I do get to hunt them during the rut in N Idaho and they are very receptive to all of the above, provided you do it right.

Again, just my opinion (from experience). Some folks may disagree.

I have had muleys respond to a grunt call before but had no luck with scents.
