You put just the trap under snow right? Any rabbit or anything? I not a trapper so don't know what's the secret.

Most of the time we use scent attractants. Smear some on the rock and the piled up brush will funnel the animal where you want them to go. I don't know the letter of the law but I think that the state doesn't like people using exposed bait because you can't control what will come in to eat it.

I use Bobcat pee and a couple other smell lures that I burry and a attractor that you can see in the picture it just cotton and some craft feathers.. I put the branches around to funnel them up to it then put snow around it and a trap pad

So roughly how often do you catch one? And how long does it take? 1 day 2 days etc.??

How do you know where to place them also? I'd like to try it someday, but the problem for me would be checking them as often as needed or necessary.

Hope you get something! I've never trapped at all and don't have any friends who are into it but I'd like to try sometime! So thanks for the little tidbits of info!

You have to check them every 48 hours.. Seems to be about every 2 weeks the cats will work the same area.. The other guy that traps with me got 2 in one week a couple weeks ago but I think the snow is messing it up a little bit.. I checked my line the other day and had one trap set off and lots of tracks around it but nothing in it so I moved it a little bit and re set it. I like to set in front of big rocks or trees somewhere to hang a attractor the cats have excellent eyes and will travel across the ridges if it catches there eye..
