Trail Cam Issues

I have a Wildview (2.0 or 3.0, don't remember). I set it up a week ago and got 250 pictures worth of critters over that time. Problem is over half of my pictures are "whited out." Anyone else have this problem?

I'm hoping the problem was I had my flash set to "on" instead of "automatic" and maybe it's letting too much light in? One reason I believe this is because my night pictures came out fine, I'm thinking it was the day pictures that messed up. I've set a cam on this exact location before and know it's not an issue of being aimed wrong as my other pictures showed up great.

Anyone experience anything similar and have a fix? If not, I'll reassess my situation next weekend when I got and check on them.

BTW, I don't have the pictures here at work, but I got a couple nice Cougar pictures in sequence. Looks like the cat is sneaking up on something in one picture, then body down with his head poking up as if he was looking at it. I'll post them when I get a chance.

Not sure on the problem, I have had some where the animal is completely covering the lens and it's whited out. But I doubt that with over half of them.

Look forward to the pics.

i've had that same problem with my moultri. i dont know why :>/ i've put the camera away and considered it broken. i use my old trusty 35mm cam right now till i buy a new one. it almost seems as if it is stuck in night time mode. to much flash and completely white pics. it drives me nuts! hope you find out what the problem is and maybe you can let me know

as promised, here's my cat pictures. Converting them to lower resolutions really darkened them up, so hope you can still see 'em.

Nice pictures of the lion.

I had the same problem with my moultire and after a while it started to work again?? Go figure.
I have also noticed if there are any tree leaves or anything close to the flash it tends to wash out the picture.

Lets see a couple washed out picts.

which direction is your cam facing. I have problems like that with mine as well. I figured out it was facing the sun at nights. as soon as i aimed it away from the sun i was alright, also, if there is an object very very close to the lens I have had the same whiteout effect. Good luck hopefully you figure it out.

i always set it north or south to avoid any sun. and the last couple times i used this cam it was 80% full of these pics, these are really the best ones , you can see some part of a deer in them. if it is at night time the pics are just fine. this is why i've assumed it is stuck in night time mode. i dont know. it just seems it is getting WAY to much light during the day?????????????????????? my good ol' 35mm stealth cam is bullet proof and has no problems at all. so it is my go to cam right now. only bad part is i have just 36 pics to take and i'm done :thumb

I have gotten several of those pictures on my camera as well. From what i could tell it was the time of day where the sun is rising/setting and it couldn't decide whether to use the flash or not. Seemed to happen more as the batteries got lower. Seems to me your on to something with it being stuck in night mode the apature-sp would be open longer and the additional light from your flash would definitely cause your picture to be overexposed.

Have you contacted wildview. A lot of manufactures will replace your camera if it's not to old.
