Trail cam question

I looking to get a camera and have a question. Do you guys think that a flash will scare some game from coming back? I've seen lots of flash pics on here but some people have told me that I shouldnt get a flash cam but instead get one with the infared flash. Of course they cost more. Also, I want something around 100 to 150 bucks, any recomendations?
Thanks.

The thing that I worry about the flash is that other people might see it and will figure out where my camera is. The cameras that I have with a regular flash on them I take into the deepest out of the way spots and set them up for the summer. Then I make sure that I have my cameras out before the hunt starts. I've never noticed that the flash on these cameras spooks the game away. In fact I've had animals hang out around the wateer holes that I watch and bed down right in front of the camera and sure enough I get a picture every five minutes of them for as long as they lay there.

So far I've liked the cuddeback and the stealth cams. Haven't had much experience with the other kinds yet.

I have a stealth cam. Very pleased. Worth every $
It has a great flash. I set it up on a fence line where all the game come down in the hay fields. I move the camera every other week down the fence line 20 ft. The big bucks will bypass the cam so you have to try to fool them. But I still get 100 pictures a night. I dont think it really bothers them too bad.
I think alot of them get curious and want to investigate.

I also bought a moultrie. What a waste of money. Very poor quality.

I would recomend the Stealth Cam, around $175 for cam and battery.
I would hate to spend $500 on a inferred and have it get stole.
Good luck

I build my own cams and love them.

Flash cameras work GREAT. Bigger Mule Deer or deer in general will avoid the cams if they get use to it in a certain spot. But it doesn't scare them away very far...as already mentioned if you move the cam a bit or point a different direction you're likely to get them again.

I had a CAM on a watering hole most of the summer for Mule Deer and it never scared them away because they needed a DRINK. :)

Elk don't seem to care much, but will attack your cams much more than a deer will.

Hey Lunkerjunker, I think your best bet is to keep 'em out of the Wasatch! :))

I dont think the flash really effects them much but that is just my opinion.

I really like the Cudde but my favorite are the Swampghosts, they are awesome!!!!!!!

Trigger speed and clarity is great.

Here are a couple pics of Bulls that were both shot this year.

If you are using a flash cam for elk they will get very interested it and mess around with it. I had a cam completely knocked off the tree by a 5 point this summer. I really dont think it spooks them very much. But like the others have said the larger animals try to avoid them.

I have a setup very much like the pictures shown. I had a bull elk completly cover my cam in mud. Dirty bugger. When he gets a little bigger I have a score to settle with him.
